How to get from IST airport to Şişli in 35 minutes
The metro route, the taxi route, and what we tell every guest who asks. Including the one shortcut that saves 20 minutes.
Istanbul's new airport (IST) opened in 2019 and is now one of the busiest in Europe. It sits 40 km northwest of the city. Getting from there to Şişli — where both Hexa properties are — is straightforward once you know the options.
By metro (fastest, cheapest)
Take the M11 airport metro to Gayrettepe (about 38 minutes). Change to M2 and take two stops to Şişli–Mecidiyeköy. Total journey: 45–55 minutes door to station, then 3 minutes on foot to Hexa Apartments. Cost: around 100 TRY (under €3). Trains run every 10–15 minutes from 06:00 to midnight.
By taxi
A taxi from IST to Şişli takes 35–50 minutes depending on traffic. Expect €35–50. We offer a flat-rate airport transfer for €35 — booked through us, paid on arrival, no surge pricing, and we track your flight in case it's delayed.
What we recommend
For solo travellers and couples with light luggage: metro, no question. For families with bags, or late arrivals after midnight: our transfer service. Message us on WhatsApp with your flight number and we'll handle the rest.
